FSS Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Mid to Senior Level Alarm Technician specializing in AES Radio device installation, service, maintenance, and testing. This role requires daily travel to customer sites and focuses on providing top-tier customer service, thorough issue documentation, and efficient resolution processes. As a key member of our AES Field Service team, the Technician will be responsible for ensuring AES Radio devices operate reliably and meet safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation & Maintenance: Install, service, maintain, and troubleshoot AES Radio devices and related Fire Alarm systems to ensure optimal functionality.
  • System Testing: Perform system tests to verify device operation, ensure compliance with safety and performance standards, and diagnose any functional issues.
  • Issue Documentation: Accurately document all issues, resolutions, and maintenance activities in company systems for future reference and compliance requirements.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client concerns, communicating service timelines, and offering clear explanations of device operations and solutions.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all installations and maintenance meet regulatory and safety standards, adhering to company protocols and industry best practices.
  • Daily Travel: Travel daily to customer sites within the service region, maintaining a high level of punctuality and preparedness for varying fieldwork conditions.
  • Collaboration & Reporting: Work closely with team members, supervisors, and other departments to facilitate smooth project completion and resolve technical challenges efficiently.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in radio communications with specific experience AES Radio devices or similar radio frequency systems.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in the installation, maintenance, and repair of AES Radio devices, with strong troubleshooting abilities RF (Radio Frequency) systems.
  • Certifications:
    • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (preferred for safety compliance)
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent (required); Associates or Bachelors degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or related field (preferred).

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze issues accurately and make sound technical decisions.
  • Documentation Proficiency: Experience with digital documentation tools and systems for issue tracking, service reporting, and compliance record-keeping.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for explaining technical concepts to clients and documenting service details.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with clients, resolve concerns, and maintain professionalism in all interactions.
  • Adaptability: Ability to handle diverse work environments, ranging from commercial sites to outdoor locations, while maintaining safety standards.

Working Conditions:

  • Fieldwork Requirements: Regular travel to client sites within the designated area. Overnight travel may be required occasionally based on project needs.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs, work in various weather conditions, and perform tasks involving bending, crouching, or working at heights.
  • Safety Standards: Commitment to following all company and regulatory safety guidelines, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to field safety protocols.
