Job Description
Join our team at iKids U as an enthusiastic and motivated After School Instructor! This is a part-time position where you will set up and deliver a diverse range of age-appropriate activities each day to foster young children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. The ideal candidate will have had prior experience working with children ages 3-14 and a genuine dedication to the field of child care. Some examples of applicable experience would be jobs such as afterschool teachers, preschool teachers, elementary teachers, camp counselors, teachers, or daycare workers.

(*upon successful completion of 90-day probation period) Responsibilities: - Supervise children during after-school hours in a licensed childcare setting
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, our host school, and iKids U colleagues
- Be a team-player with punctual, reliable attendance for your shifts so we can appropriately meet staff to student ratios daily and to ensure the children can bond positively with you as a caregiver
- Select daily preschool and elementary-age activities to ensure students are engaged and having fun
- Work with a variety of educational tools and manipulatives to strengthen child growth and learning
- Be a valuable, reliable mentor for our students' growth and a relationship-builder with our families/school
- Maintain a safe and welcoming environment at all times for all children attending iKids
- Learn and implement minimum Texas childcare licensing standards in the iKids U afterschool program to prioritize safety, fun, and learning for each student in the program
- Attend ongoing (virtual and in-person) trainings to be able to work well within our licensed childcare setting
Qualifications: - High school diploma required; bachelor's in education or related field preferred
- Previous experience in childcare, education, or related settings preferred
- Understanding of child development and behavior management
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable car/transport to get to work 5 days a week
- CPR and First Aid certification/willingness to obtain
- can pass a background test with no issues for state childcare licensing and children's safety
- Willingness to master simple digital attendance and parent communication systems for daily reporting
