We are searching for an Assistant Merchant to join this amazing team. In this role you will be responsible for assisting the Merchant in achieving sales and profit goals of a specific category and/or department through supporting selection, pricing, and promotion of merchandise by utilizing appropriate merchandising techniques via catalog and digital commerce to maximize the company's return on inventory investment. Supports merchandising through a variety of daily tasks including data entry, business analysis, presentations, product review and vendor meetings. A successful candidate will be detail-oriented, creative, analytical and can quickly pivot to support the tactical needs of a growing organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall support to the Merchant team in creating an exciting product assortment that meets or exceeds sales volume and profit for their area.
  • Intuitively respond to customer feedback, market trends, and work with Merchant to develop action plans that drive growth and increased profitability.
  • Perform research analysis of the designated categories market and identifies trends and opportunities that can be applied to the core customer.
  • Develop a relationship with customer to ensure merchandising/products reflect what customer wants to buy.
  • Partner with leader and cross functional team to build, assort, and plan the line for designated categories.
  • Sample Management.
  • Responsible for overseeing and managing product data integrity of designated categories.
  • Review all content and imagery for designated categories across all channels of the Brand.
  • Create strong partnerships among cross functional areas including planning, trend/design/tech design, product development/sourcing, marketing/digital commerce and creative.
  • Assist in the development and execution of seasonal merchandise plans and pricing strategies in partnership with leader.
  • Communicate with product development team and design team on a recap of best and worst sellers.
  • Ensure ongoing coordination with digital commerce and cross-functional teams on final assortment and any updates as needed.

Experience/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience with an apparel retailer preferred; can include internship experience
  • Excellent MS Office & Outlook skills with emphasis on Excel
  • Strong interpersonal skills; excellent written and verbal communication; work effectively and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, prioritize and complete tasks on tight deadlines
  • Possess analytical skills, ability to draw smart conclusions and make thoughtful recommendations
  • Innate sense of fashion and ability to analyze and translate trends
  • Ability to be extremely detail oriented while working in a fast-paced environment
