Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Service Writer to join our team at Boise Automotive Service, a trusted name in automotive repair. The Assistant Service Writer plays a key role in providing raving fan customer service, supporting the service writing team, and ensuring smooth communication between customers and the technicians. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for the automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, in person and over the phone
• Assist in writing repair orders by gathering vehicle information and customer concerns
• Communicate clearly with technicians to relay customer needs and ensure proper documentation of repairs
• Provide status updates to customers throughout the repair process
• Help maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and labor times
• Assist in scheduling service appointments and managing the shop’s workflow
• Coordinate parts orders and follow up on deliveries when necessary
• Ensure the office area is clean, organized, and presentable
• Support the Service Writer and Service Manager as needed

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior experience in customer service or automotive repair industry preferred
• Basic understanding of vehicle systems and repair terminology
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a busy environment
• Proficient with computers and service management software (or willing to learn)
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
