Under the direction of the Vice Chancellor for Community and Government Relations and the Vice President of Government Relations for UCSF Health, the Associate Director of Federal Relations is responsible for planning and implementing the federal relations activities related to UCSF's health and education missions. The Associate Director will also be responsible for overseeing federal relations activities regarding immigration, civil rights, workforce, and any related Department of Justice and Congressional investigations.
Based in Washington, D.C., the Associate Director will serve as the liaison for advancing the priorities of the campus and medical center with members of Congress, their staffs, executive branch agencies, and other federal organizations by building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders to advocate for federal policies impacting academic health care, health professions training, and higher education. This position will collaborate with the UC Office of the President (specifically the D.C. office), UCSF leadership, and faculty and staff throughout the campus and medical center to understand UCSF's priorities and develop advocacy strategies.
