The Audiologist is responsible for administering audiology and amplification treatments under physician guidance, evaluating and planning patient care to restore function and prevent disability. This role includes performing comprehensive hearing and vestibular assessments, counseling patients and families on the impacts of hearing impairment, and educating them on hearing assistive devices. The Audiologist collaborates with healthcare staff to ensure optimal patient care and participates in quality improvement activities.
The Audiologist is responsible for administration and direct application of audiology and amplification treatment modalities as prescribed by a referring physician. Evaluates, plans, directs and treats all patients referred for audiology treatments to restore function and prevent disability following disease or injury. Assists patients to obtain maximum performance and function in society while learning to live a routine “normal” life within the constraints of their disability.
