Overview Director/Senior Director of Business Development for a mid-sized global full service clinical Contract Research Organization (CRO). The role focuses on winning new business and managing accounts with small to large sized biotechs across a broad range of therapeutic areas. Hybrid role with work-from-home flexibility and a couple of days per week in the company's offices in downtown San Francisco. Responsibilities Achieving agreed upon sales and business development targets, creating and implementing appropriate business development strategies for identified target markets Prospecting with the goal of establishing a pipeline of sales opportunities and RFPs from potential clients; ensuring qualification for competitive advantage, timing, budget, and decision maker Establishing relationships with potential CRO partners to generate RFPs that require a collaborative approach highlighting each organization's strengths to win new business Meeting with potential clients regularly Utilizing Salesforce to track client activities including meetings and opportunities, and providing updates to inform Management of current status Leading and managing the sales process for leads from internal and external sources Leading the proposals development process for all opportunities, ensuring strategy, budget, proposal language, and timelines meet client expectations Redefining appropriate and profitable market niches for business opportunities based on evidence Providing input to Marketing to support the business development process with effective marketing strategies Providing input to business development leadership on territory and industry knowledge to develop sales targets, strategies, and plans Working with the team to implement strategies to support the sales process, including securing resources for pre-sales activities Engaging with agents and consultants in other geographic locations to support business development Engaging with internal research staff to maximize selling opportunities related to travel schedules Identifying and attending appropriate conferences and trade shows to create business opportunities How to apply To apply for this role, please send an up to date CV to jesse.mallett@rbwconsulting.com Seniority level Director Employment type Full-time Job function Business Development, Sales, and Consulting Industries: Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Biotechnology Research, and Medical Equipment Manufacturing Get notified about new Director of Business Development jobs in San Francisco Bay Area .
