Position Summary: The Dental Assistant will be a dedicated member of our School Health Department to support Dental Services within our public school programs. The full time, Monday through Friday position will spend 2 days in our Elmhurst, Queens School, and 3 days in our Bronx Schools. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Required. Must possess Dental Assistant Certification 0-1 years of related experience in a dental setting. Must have flexible schedule. Previous experience working in a school-based setting, a plus. Key Duties: Assists the Dentist and Dental Hygienist in route procedures. Takes digital X-rays and impressions. Orders dental supplies and maintains inventory. Sterilizes all equipment. Schedules appointments and maintains reception area as required. Distributes patient educational materials as needed. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals.
