The Echocardiograph Technologist performs cardiac ultrasound examinations and assists physicians in specialized echocardiography procedures using advanced imaging equipment. This role requires certification as a cardiac sonographer and experience with various echo modalities, including stress and trans-catheter guided procedures. The position involves part-time day shifts with on-call responsibilities in a comprehensive healthcare setting focused on patient-centered care.
Description
Performs cardiac ultrasound examinations according to physician's orders, utilizing a variety of complex ultrasound equipment. Objectively identifies the presence of or absence of disease utilizing a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Assists physicians with more invasive echocardiography examinations including, but not limited to, Transesophageal echocardiography, Trans-catheter echo guided procedures (location specific), pericardiocentesis, echo guided myocardial biopsies (location specific), contrast enhanced exams, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiography. Has the ability to modify procedures, to meet special circumstances and/or provide clinically useful information on a cost-effective basis. Will comply with the standards set forth by the American Society of Echocardiography and departmental policies and procedures.

This position requires shared coverage for stand by and call back emergency studies in the evenings and weekends. This may include shared regional coverage to other Portland facilities and or rotation through staffed weekend shifts.
