Job Title : Event Technician
FLSA: Hourly/Non-Exempt
Department: Exposition Center
Reports to : EXPO Manager

General Purpose :
Under the general supervision of the EXPO Manager and performs a variety of unskilled or semi-skilled maintenance work, and operates a variety of equipment in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance, preparation of the facility for events and general upkeep.
Essential Functions: All duties are performed in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
Facility maintenance, clean-up, set-up and tear-down for events, inspects and repairs, preventive maintenance on equipment and tools. Insures proper maintenance of equipment and tools by cleaning and checking equipment after use and refers defects and needed repairs to immediate supervisor. The Event Technician may be required to operate equipment of various sizes and weights, in the loading, hauling and unloading of various materials and equipment. Performs required labor involved in the construction and maintenance or projects as part of a crew. Duties may include fitting and cleaning material in preparation of events and working with user groups as event needs dictate.

Minimum Qualifications: - Desired minimum qualification includes a High School diploma or GED equivalent; combination of education and experience.
- Must maintain a valid Oklahoma Driver's License
- Must be insurable by city's insurance carrier
- Employee must obtain Forklift Certification with the City of Claremore before operating a forklift.
- Must be able to work weekends, evenings/nights as events require.
- Employees shall dress in uniform shirt with jeans or shorts, as weather dictates; keep personal hygiene and may or may not have to remove personal piercings or jewelry if they can be seen as a safety hazard.
Tools and Equipment: Tractor, forklift, skid loader, mowers, hand tools, power tools and various heavy equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, listen, walk, use hands, fingers, handle, feel objects, tools, controls, reach, bend, balance, crouch, kneel, smell, stoop, crawl, climb, lift or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: Primarily inside or under cover; outside, moderately quiet noise level outside the operation of machines and power tools, susceptible to weather, heat and cold. City of Claremore
