Job Description
Small Excavation, Grading and Paving company has openings for:
Non-Union / Full time positions
Looking for experienced Laborers.
Paving experience a plus.
BASIC FUNCTION:
The basic function of the Laborer is to perform work in the field as instructed by the Job Foreman. All activities need to be executed on time and at the highest level of quality.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
The Laborer reports to Foreman and Owner.
The following positions report directly to the Laborer: None
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all customers and internal staff members.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions.
Ability to operate basic construction equipment.
Ability to follow company procedures and policies.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Leadership / Management:
Work as a team with all personnel to achieve company goals.
Represent the company in a positive and professional manner.
Identify improvements to procedures and issues needing to be addressed.
Perform any other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
Operations:
Perform field activities as instructed.
Act as a ground guy for Operators.
Measure grades at the work site.
Load and unload tools and equipment at the beginning and end of the day.
Clean up worksite at the end of the day.
Track individual hours on the job.
Follow company and legal safety guidelines in the field and on the road.
Human Resources & Administration:
Arrive at work on time and prepared to work.
Complete and submit time sheets daily.
MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE: (The following will be used to evaluate the performance of the Laborer)
Ability to perform all duties specified.
Ability to complete goals set in regular evaluation and goal setting sessions.
Arriving on time and being prepared to work.
Ability to follow company standard and instructions from supervisors.
Ability to communicate with clients and staff.
Representing the company in a professional and courteous manner.
Organizations and cleanliness of the work site.
Overall quality of job work.
Accuracy and timeliness of internal paperwork.
On time completion and accuracy of timesheets.
