Description: Key Responsibilities

• Install, splice, and terminate fiber optic cables in both aerial and underground environments
  
• Perform testing and troubleshooting using OTDRs, power meters, and other specialized tools
  
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and network maps
  
• Identify and repair issues related to fiber connectivity and signal loss
  
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including site reports and test results
  
• Work safely and efficiently in various environments including confined spaces, heights, and outdoor conditions
  
• Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and other technicians to meet deadlines
  
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work vehicle
  

• Certification in fiber optics (e.g., FOA CFOT, ETA, or similar)
  
• Experience with FTTH, OSP/ISP installations, or data center environments
  
• Familiarity with industry standards such as ANSI/TIA/EIA and NEC codes

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical certifications preferred)
• 1+ year of experience in fiber optic installation or splicing (or related telecom/electrical experience)
• Working knowledge of fiber optic theory, cable types, and installation methods
• Ability to operate fusion splicers, OTDRs, and other testing equipment
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments
