Finance Manager/Accountant

 

Dynamic, rapidly growing, reputable plumbing contractor company needs your generalist accounting and financial planning expertise to contribute to the strategic development of this organization.

 

The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in finance, with a specific focus in the plumbing or construction industry. As the Financial Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing the financial activities of the company and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

 

You will be responsible for directing the company’s financial and expansion planning, strategic planning, treasury management, tax, insurance, and business administration. This includes a full cycle of accounting, WIP reports, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, preparation of financial, tax, operational reports, and other weekly information. If you have exceptional financial/accounting skills, payroll experience and experience with QuickBooks. If you possess all of this and a can-do attitude that enjoys a team environment that prides itself on excellent customer service and creative problem-solving skills, you may qualify for this position that reports to the Owner.

 

 

Essential Responsibilities :

 

  • Manage and oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management review.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance against budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including tax filings, financial disclosures, and reporting obligations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support strategic decision-making and achieve company objectives.
  • Lead and mentor finance team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

 

Essentials Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of Five (5) years of relevant experience in finance, with a focus on the construction industry.
  • Proficiency with accounting software, particularly with QuickBooks. 
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues at all levels.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with experience managing and developing a team.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
