Canterbury Court is looking for a Part-time Gardening Assistant to join our family. The Part-time position is located in the Plant Operations division of our Life Plan Community (LPC). We invite you to experience Canterbury Court.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with landscape maintenance including weeding, debris, and watering plants, cleaning fountains, filling bird baths and bird feeders on our 10-acre site Assistant with composting including collecting materials, turning, and watering Assist in the maintenance of the greenhouse and be familiar with its operation Move soil, heavy containers, and plants as instructed Empty specific trashcans as assigned Perform Work Orders with resident gardeners in their independent gardens. Flexible Part-time hours; Monday through Friday Opportunity to assist with Horticulture therapy classes in the memory care garden Interest in native plants and pollinators Identify and treat potential pests or diseases

QUALIFICATIONS
•Experience in planting plants, applying mulch, light pruning, and transplanting, etc.

•Experience with various types of mechanical equipment and machinery

• Must be able to lift a 40 lb bag of soil
• Need to be able to execute a task from start to finish with minimal supervision
• Comfortable working outside in various weather conditions including rain and cold
• Ability to quickly pivot from one task to another, supporting the team
• Must have a mindset to perform the tasks in the most efficient manner: gathering needed tools, safety cones if needed, combining with other tasks as necessary and cleaning up area when finished
