Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to enhance their team. The Construction Project Manager (PM) is responsible for overseeing the execution of construction and renovation projects supporting the FAA. This role involves managing all aspects of the project, including technical oversight, project schedules, resource allocation, and ensuring the timely completion of deliverables in compliance with scope, budget, and quality standards. The PM works closely with government and contractor teams to coordinate project activities, ensuring that all construction and renovation efforts meet mission-critical operational requirements and adhere to FAA standards.This role supports the Federal Aviation Administration, which is responsible for ensuring the safety of 45,000 flights and 3 million passengers traversing over 28 million miles of U.S. controlled airspace every day. In addition to providing air traffic control and safety oversight for civilian aviation, the FAA also works in lockstep with the Department of Defense and other government agencies to ensure the security of our nation. Key Responsibilities:Project Oversight: Manage and oversee all aspects of construction projects, including HVAC systems, electrical systems, and infrastructure related to radar and surveillance systems. Ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards, with particular focus on the integration of complex systems within the construction process.Team Leadership: Lead, coordinate, and manage project teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment with project goals and objectives. Oversee the integration of HVAC systems, radar mounts, surveillance equipment, and supporting infrastructure, ensuring smooth collaboration among engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.Financial Management: Track and manage project budgets, providing regular updates on financial status. Ensure that financial transactions are accurately reported, and make necessary adjustments to avoid budget overruns, with an emphasis on the costs associated with specialized systems like HVAC and surveillance infrastructure.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with government regulations, policies, and industry standards, focusing on those specific to Department of Defense (DoD) and government construction projects. This includes adherence to security clearance requirements, and specific regulations for HVAC and surveillance system installations.HVAC and Infrastructure Management: Oversee the construction and installation of HVAC systems to ensure proper climate control for sensitive equipment. Manage the construction of structures such as radar mounts, electrical systems, roads, sidewalks, and other critical infrastructure that supports radar and surveillance systems. Ensure all installations meet functional, environmental, and safety standards.Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and government stakeholders to ensure that project objectives are met efficiently and effectively. Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to communicate project progress, address concerns, and ensure all expectations are aligned.Logistical Coordination: Oversee logistics related to project execution, ensuring proper coordination of materials, personnel, and equipment to support construction activities. Manage the coordination of complex systems integration, including the installation and commissioning of HVAC and surveillance systems.Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present regular project status reports, including updates on budget, timelines, risks, and any changes to project scope, to senior management and stakeholders. Ensure thorough documentation of construction progress, technical specifications, and any system testing results.Travel Coordination: Manage and coordinate project travel, ensuring team members meet project needs across various locations.Work Requirements:Client Office: Washington, DC / HybridMain Office: Based in Vienna, VA (Thursdays in office)Travel: Required Qualifications:Minimum of 15 years of experience and be proficient in:Managing construction projects for federal agencies and/or DOD.Familiarity w/ MS products (Excel, PPT, Word), CAD software, MS Project/Project Management Software.Ability to manage team of people for implementation, oversight, performance management, general HR training items.Ability to interface with stakeholders and serve as customer liaison.Reporting on project metrics, status, funding, and logistics.Bachelors degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.Experience supporting the FAA or other US Government clients.Eligible to obtain a Secret clearance.
