LawMates recruiting on behalf of a criminal defense and immigration law firm in Troy, Michigan, and they're looking for a smart, reliable, entry-level legal assistant to join their team.

This is a fast-paced, no-nonsense office led by a passionate attorney who’s direct, driven, and fully committed to fighting for their clients. If you’re sharp, hardworking, and ready to learn, this is an incredible opportunity to grow your skills and get your foot in the legal world.

• Answer and manage high-volume calls with professionalism
• Maintain and organize the attorney’s calendar
• File court documents for both criminal defense and immigration cases (e-filing and in-person)
• Handle administrative support and day-to-day office tasks
• Follow directions well, stay organized, and keep things moving

• Communicate clearly and confidently
• Can take direction and learn quickly
• Are dependable, focused, and unafraid of a busy workday
• Want to grow in the legal field (no experience necessary!)
• Speak Spanish (strongly preferred but not required)

This is a 1099 contractor position.
