Actively seeking a Real Estate Legal Assistant for a full-time position with a Real Estate Investment & Management Firm. The Legal Assistant will support all phases of complex real estate transactions from entity formation through post-closing, ensuring smooth coordination, accurate documentation, and compliance across parties and deadlines.

LOCATION : FULLY ONSITE | New York, NY

PAY : Up to $100K (with flexibility for experience)

IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of legal experience in multifamily real estate or commercial real estate closings
• Strong working knowledge of agency lending platforms (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac)
• Active Notary Public
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
• Outstanding organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail
• Strong written communication and multitasking abilities

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review deal terms and prepare detailed checklists for real estate purchases and financing transactions.
• Draft initial versions of entity formation and governance documents, such as operating agreements and organizational charts.
• Form legal entities, obtain EINs, and manage ongoing entity maintenance and compliance tasks.
• Draft resolutions, consents, and lender-required documents (e.g., independent directors, springing members).
• Coordinate closings across various parties including lenders, buyers, sellers, title companies, and other third parties.
• Assist with banking agreements, escrow arrangements, and control agreements.
• Prepare and organize signature pages, exhibits, schedules, and closing binders.
• Order and review title, survey, and zoning reports; communicate comments to stakeholders.
• Maintain electronic document files and support post-closing activities such as recording follow-up, escrow releases, and policy issuance.
• Prepare investor documentation, track legal spend, and work with accounting to manage payments.
