About the Property
Formerly a low-end rooming house, the property has been fully renovated, upgraded, and converted into what could best be described as having elements of a guesthouse, large bed and breakfast, or high-end hostel. As such, we have plans to compete directly with local hotels by leveraging value, unbeatable customer service, and an overall experience that is just like home. Our aim is the highest standard of quality possible, and we seek a self-motivated and enthusiastic candidate that will help us to achieve that goal.
The successful candidate will co-head a small operational team and will be responsible for every aspect of hospitality management and day-to-day operations of the property, including, but not limited to marketing, bookings, customer service, budgeting, housekeeping management, guest loyalty, and guest satisfaction.
There will be a total of 4 live-in staff members – two managers and two housekeeping staff - each housed in their own individual studio apartment.
The position will be full time, but with a flexible 4-day work week schedule (4 days on, 3 days off).
At Buffalo Guesthouse, “Our House Is Your House” is our motto. We really mean it, and that’s exactly how we want our guests to feel – like they’re old friends visiting our home.
To that end, the property is equipped with a fully functional common kitchen; a common dining room; a solarium front porch with recliner lounge chairs; a large backyard with a grill; various additional common areas in which to sit and relax throughout the property; an extremely large hot tub/swim spa; and every old school board game imaginable.
Also, staff will be allowed and encouraged (time and duties permitting), to interact with and entertain our guests. They can even schedule events for our guests, or within the community at large. We want to offer not just a place to stay, but an entirely unique experience.
Our mission is to create a clean and safe environment that is fun for guests as well as staff members, while at the same time, emphasizing superior customer service and promoting restful, peaceful, and comfortable sleep.
As a small property with a small group of staff, each employee must be willing to wear many hats and support each other in many ways for the ultimate success of the property and the overall team.
We offer competitive pay and benefits, a healthy, enjoyable, and inclusive work environment, and a chance to be a part of something truly special.
The successful candidate will be a dependable leader with a passion for hospitality and a commitment to providing exceptional service to our guests. Also, the person should have outstanding organizational and communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships. They must have an in-depth knowledge of all facets of the hospitality industry and be able to work effectively under pressure.
Essential skills include problem solving, conflict resolution, effective communication, and a commitment to excellence. The ability to multi-task and problem solve will be essential along with a commitment to providing superior customer service.
This role isn’t just about managing a property – it's about being part of a vision. Ready to make Buffalo Guesthouse a local gem? Apply today, and let’s build something unforgettable together!
