This is an in-office position located at our Austin, TX headquarters. Remote candidates will not be considered at this time.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Underwriter to join our team at our Austin, TX headquarters. The ideal candidate will have expertise in DSCR, multi-family and commercial underwriting ensuring sound credit decisions that align with our risk appetite and lending criteria. This role requires in-office collaboration with our lending team to drive efficient deal execution.

Key Responsibilities

· Conduct thorough analysis and underwriting of hard money loan applications for real estate, ensuring

compliance with company guidelines and industry standards.

· Assess borrower creditworthiness, property value, market conditions, and overall loan feasibility.

· Perform detailed due diligence, including review of financial statements, credit reports, appraisals,

environmental reports, and other relevant documentation.

· Ensure compliance with company underwriting standards, investor guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

· Structure loans for optimal exit strategies, including agency take-out financing.

· Work closely with loan officers, processors, and leadership to facilitate quick decision-making.

· Present underwriting recommendations to credit committees and senior management.

· Stay informed on market trends, lending regulations, and risk management best practices.

Qualifications

· 3+ years of DSCR underwriting experience with hard money lending a plus.

· Strong understanding of real estate finance, loan structuring, and risk assessment.

· Proficiency in analyzing financials, debt-service coverage ratios (DSCR), and market trends.

· Knowledge of agency loan programs (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD).

· Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and decision-making skills.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, in-office environment and meet tight deadlines.

· Strong communication skills for presenting recommendations and collaborating with internal teams.
