Overview:

The Logistics Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the movement of goods, managing inventory, and coordinating logistics operations within the organization. Their strategic decisions impact the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the supply chain, ensuring on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies, policies, and procedures
  • Manage and optimize transportation and distribution processes
  • Oversee inventory management and warehousing activities
  • Lead and mentor the logistics team to ensure high performance
  • Monitor and analyze logistics KPIs to drive continuous improvement
  • Negotiate contracts and rates with shipping lines, carriers, and other vendors
  • Collaborate with sales, procurement, and production teams to meet customer demands
  • Ensure compliance with local and international regulations
  • Resolve transportation and logistics issues in a timely manner
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining service levels
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to the team
  • Prepare and present logistics reports to management
  • Evaluate and select logistics technology and software
  • Forecast logistics trends and recommend proactive measures
  • Manage relationships with logistics service providers
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or relevant field
  • Proven experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
  • Excellent understanding of logistics and inventory management principles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in logistics software and MS Office applications
  • In-depth knowledge of local and international shipping regulations
  • Outstanding negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Certification in logistics and supply chain management is a plus
  • Proven track record of optimizing logistics operations and reducing costs
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Collaborative and proactive approach to achieving logistics objectives
  • Adaptability to changing business and industry requirements
