Job Overview The Video Production Resident participates in Macy's 2025 Photo Content Studio Summer Residency, an 8-week, full-time paid program. This role provides hands-on experience in all aspects of content creation and production. The resident works in person at Macy's Long Island City Photo and Content Studios. Please note that housing and transportation are not included.
The resident applies creative expertise and technical skills to support the production of engaging videos that showcase Macy's as an industry leader. Collaborating with various teams both in-studio and on location, the intern contributes to impactful storytelling through video, playing a key role in enhancing the brand's presence and influence.
What You Will Do - Collaborate with videographers, editors, and post-production teams throughout the summer residency.
- Support the execution of final content, including filming, editing, or both.
- Assist with all pre- and post-production tasks on-site, in-studio, and on location.
- Participate in team meetings, creative brainstorms, pre-production discussions, and video reviews.
- Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
- In addition to the essential duties mentioned above, other duties may be assigned.
Skills You Will Need Video Production Knowledge - Understanding of filming, editing, and post-production processes.
Technical Proficiency - Familiarity with cameras, lighting, audio equipment, and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects).
Creativity & Storytelling - Ability to craft compelling visual narratives that enhance brand messaging.
Collaboration & Teamwork - Works effectively with videographers, editors, and other creative professionals.
Attention to Detail - Ensures high-quality content through precise editing and production techniques.
Organizational Skills - Manages multiple tasks, meets deadlines, and contributes efficiently to the production process.
Adaptability & Problem-Solving - Adjusts to changing production needs and resolves challenges on set or in post-production.
Communication Skills - Clearly conveys ideas and actively participates in team discussions, brainstorms, and reviews.
Who You Are - Candidates currently enrolled in an accredited four-year institution with a GPA of 3.0 or higher are encouraged to apply.
- Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
- Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
