Maintenance Supervisor
Location: South Pittsburgh, PA
Salary Range: $90,000 – $95,000 annually
A leading manufacturer of specialty steel products is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations at its facility in South Pittsburgh, PA. This role is essential to ensuring the plant’s equipment and infrastructure support safe, efficient, and high-quality production. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the supervisor will coordinate daily maintenance tasks, lead a skilled team, and contribute to long-term reliability and improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
● Supervise and schedule maintenance teams to perform both preventive and corrective work.
● Enforce all safety, environmental, and quality standards for employees and contractors.
● Oversee procurement of parts, tools, and materials required for repairs and upgrades.
● Investigate equipment breakdowns using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement long-term solutions.
● Contribute to capital project planning and support infrastructure improvement initiatives.
● Promote strong housekeeping practices and ongoing training for team members.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience:
● Minimum 5 years of hands-on maintenance supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
● Strong background in industrial electrical systems, including high-voltage equipment.
● Experience with specialty metals or alloy operations is a plus.
● Practical experience with PLCs, drives, and control systems is highly valued.
Education:
● High school diploma or GED required.
● Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred.
Skills:
● Strong leadership and communication abilities across departments and shifts.
● Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in applying RCA techniques. ● Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical documents.
● Competent with maintenance software systems for managing work orders, inventory, and reporting.
