ELS is hiring for the position of Marina Operations Assistant in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Marina Operations Assistant to join our team. This unique role combines responsibilities related to marina operations and dockhand duties, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for our boating enthusiasts.
What you'll be doing: As a Marina Operations Assistant / Dockhand, you will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of our marina while providing exceptional customer service to boat owners and guests. This role involves a mix of administrative tasks, marina maintenance, and assisting with boat docking/fueling and some cleaning duties. We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic about working both indoors and outdoors.
Key Responsibilities: 1. Customer Service: - Greet and assist boat owners and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer customer inquiries, provide information, and assist with reservations and registrations.
- Ensure a welcoming and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
2. Marina Operations: - Assist in the overall maintenance and cleanliness of the marina facilities, including docks, walkways, and common areas.
- Monitor and report any safety hazards, maintenance issues, or damage to equipment or facilities.
- Assist with fueling operations, waste disposal, and other marina-related tasks.
3. Outside Duties: - Assist boat owners with docking, undocking, and securing their vessels.
- Provide guidance and assistance to boaters during the mooring and launching processes.
- Handle lines, fenders, and other equipment as needed.
4. Administrative Tasks: - Maintain accurate records of boat arrivals, departures, and payments.
- Handle cash transactions and process payments for services rendered.
- Assist in the preparation of schedules, reservations, and paperwork.
5. Safety and Security: - Enforce marina rules and regulations to ensure the safety and security of all guests and vessels.
- Assist in emergency response procedures and be prepared to offer assistance during rescue operations.
Qualifications: - Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of boating and marina operations is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy objects.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reservation management.
- Experience working with Excel, Outlook, and Word required.
- Able to work both independently and as a part of a team.
- Reliable with good time management skills and the ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Adaptable to working in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions: - This position may require working weekends, evenings, and holidays, as marina operations typically extend throughout the boating season.
- Exposure to outdoor elements and physical demands, including lifting and carrying heavy objects, may be required.
