Job Description

Position Summary:
A Medical Device organization is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Metallurgical & Laser Marking Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Palm Beach Gardens, FL for a six-month contract. The primary responsibility of this role is to apply metallurgical expertise and advanced laser marking techniques to the manufacturing of devices. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background with specific experience in laser marking systems, particularly FOBA, and a working understanding of Ultrafast Pulsed (USP) lasers and nanoscale applications.

Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact for metallurgical considerations within designated manufacturing processes.
Develop, optimize, and validate laser marking processes on metallic medical devices to meet quality and regulatory requirements.
Utilize and troubleshoot FOBA laser marking systems.
Apply knowledge of Ultrafast Pulsed (USP) lasers and nanoscale principles to enhance device marking or surface treatments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality, R&D) to resolve issues and implement process improvements.
Contribute to process validation and documentation efforts.
Troubleshoot issues related to material properties and laser marking.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline is required.
Demonstrated experience as a Metallurgist in a manufacturing environment.
Proven expertise in laser marking technologies.
Hands-on experience with FOBA laser marking systems is a significant advantage.
Familiarity with Ultrafast Pulsed (USP) lasers and nanoscale applications is required. (Need RECENT experience in this)
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in the medical device industry.
Familiarity with Windchill and SAP systems.
