Job Description

Careerscape is recruiting for a Santa Fe museum that needs a Curator to manage collections, develop exhibits, and oversee preservation. You'll research objects, create engaging displays, and share knowledge with visitors.

Our client is a respected cultural institution in the heart of Santa Fe's arts district. They offer opportunities to work with significant collections and contribute to public education.

Curate meaningful exhibits while preserving cultural heritage in Santa Fe.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and care for museum collections
  • Research objects and develop exhibit themes
  • Design and install museum exhibitions
  • Write exhibit labels and educational materials
  • Acquire new objects for collection through donations and purchases
  • Catalog and document collection items
  • Ensure proper storage and conservation of artifacts
  • Give tours and presentations to groups
  • Collaborate with educators on programming

Requirements

  • Master degree in Museum Studies, History, Art History, or related field
  • 3-5 years of curatorial or museum experience
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Knowledge of collections management practices
  • Experience designing engaging exhibits
  • Understanding of conservation and preservation
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Attention to detail in cataloging and documentation
  • Passion for sharing knowledge with public
