This position would be from 3-6 months with possibility of going permanent!
Schedule: This is a full time, Day hours, with some flexibility to work weekends.

About our community:
Catholic Eldercare is a community of residential facilities in Northeast Minneapolis offering services in assisted living, independent living, skilled nursing, memory care, transitional care, and adult day services.
Responsibilities:
Provides individualized music therapy services to meet physical, emotional, cognitive, psychosocial and spiritual needs.
Assists TR director in leading the AMTA National Roster Internship program as the lead supervising music therapist
Assists in reviewing intern applications to select ideal candidates
Works directly with interns to provide the best learning experience in alignment with the established program
Provides direct and meaningful feedback to interns aimed to advance skills and build knowledge of uses of music therapy in the long-term care setting
Works with internship director to address any issues with interns as they arise
Works with local University music therapy programs to supervise practicum students as part of professional development
Creates, develops and leads a variety of large and small groups based on resident interests.
Participates in the planning and facilitation of monthly activities calendars on assigned long-term care units in collaboration with activity coordinators.
Assists TR department with parties other in-house events.
Maintains accurate documentation of services provided and other necessary information in resident charts
Good communication skills and the ability to multi-task and adapt to work environment as needed.
Compassion and caring attitude needed for elders that may have a variety of emotional, physical, cultural and dementia related needs.
Ability to complete MDS, Assessments, Care Plans, and Progress notes.
Attends weekly Care Conferences as part of the interdisciplinary health care team.
Determines supplies and equipment needs and notifies Director or purchases per Director approval.
Maintains order and cleanliness of activity room and storage areas.
Follows all company policies and procedures and complies with all required training; complies with all state, federal laws, rules and regulations.
Must be able to push a wheelchair, walk, sit and stand throughout the day.
Ability to work with staff, family, volunteers and vendors in a professional manner.
Work as a team member and adapt to changes in work assignments to meet resident and/or staffing needs.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited music therapy program with Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy or its equivalence.
Completion and passing of National Certification Exam (CBMT) credentials of MT-BC Music Therapy Board Certified required.
Experience in a long-term care environment with adults 62+, preferred
Proficiency in Guitar, Piano & voice
