Medical Receptionist

We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our team in Minneapolis, Minnesota on a part-time basis. As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless experience for patients while supporting clinic operations. This is a contract position within the healthcare industry, offering a dynamic and collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and check in patients for clinic and radiology appointments, ensuring a friendly and efficient experience.
  • Provide clear instructions to patients regarding required forms and documentation.
  • Collect and verify demographic and insurance information, entering details accurately into the NextGen system for billing purposes.
  • Process patient payments, including co-pays, swiftly and accurately.
  • Prepare daily charts for scheduled appointments to maintain efficient clinic operations.
  • Assist patients in scheduling follow-up appointments and provide guidance on the patient portal.
  • Coordinate interpreter services for patients requiring language assistance.
  • Update and maintain the provider database within NextGen to ensure accurate tracking of referring providers.
  • Keep the front office area tidy and organized, including restocking supplies and maintaining a welcoming environment.
  • Collaborate with clinic staff to support smooth workflows and continuity of care for patients.
  • Requirements:

    • Proven experience in patient registration and medical front office operations.
    • Strong customer service skills with the ability to assist patients and visitors effectively.
    • Proficiency in scheduling appointments and managing calendars.
    • Skilled in accurate data entry and maintaining detailed records.
    • Familiarity with medical billing systems, specifically NextGen, is preferred.
    • Ability to organize and manage office supplies efficiently.
    • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain forms and processes clearly.
    • Commitment to working collaboratively with clinic staff and maintaining patient satisfaction.
