The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and supporting the overall human resources and finance functions. This role plays a critical part in maintaining employee trust and organizational integrity regarding compensation practices.
This position operates on a hybrid work schedule , with a combination of remote work and in-office presence as required.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcess bi-weekly payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees using [insert payroll software, e.g., ADP, Paychex, etc.].
Maintain and update payroll records including new hires, terminations, and salary changes.
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local tax laws and reporting requirements.
Coordinate with HR to ensure accurate benefit and deduction calculations.
Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Prepare payroll journal entries and assist with payroll-related audits.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, and time reporting.
Assist with year-end activities, including tax preparation and distribution.
