The Tannery Row is a leading leather distributor offering high-quality luxury hides from top tanneries in the U.S. and Europe. By working directly with these makers, we bring exceptional leather to independent artisans and small businesses.

Role Overview

We’re looking for a skilled product and textile photographer to capture high-quality images of our leather and related goods for use across our website and marketing channels. This role centers on composition, consistency, lighting, and texture accuracy—with an emphasis on portraying the surface, feel, and qualities of each leather as clearly and true as possible.

In addition to photography, we’re also looking for video content that showcases leather handling, material characteristics and movement, behind-the-scenes moments, or process footage—helping bring the material to life through motion and offering customers a more dynamic understanding of each product.

Experience with lifestyle, brand, or conceptual photo/video is a plus. We'd love to visually highlight our retail space, showroom, team, and customers when possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Shoot clear, true-to-color product photos (both full hides and close-up details)
• Edit images for e-commerce use (color correction, cleanup, cropping, file optimization)
• Style simple, brand-aligned photo setups for occasional featured or campaign imagery
• Capture video content that highlights the movement, texture, and characteristics of various leather products
• Film process-driven content (e.g. unrolling hides, product prep, showroom walkthroughs) to support educational or promotional use
• Record behind-the-scenes footage to support storytelling and brand engagement

Qualifications

• Strong portfolio of product photography 
• Solid understanding of lighting, composition, and color accuracy
• Ability to capture material qualities like texture, grain, and sheen in both still and moving images
• Proficiency in editing software (Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro or similar)
• Comfortable shooting and editing video content for use across multiple channels
• Excellent attention to detail and a consistent visual style

Equipment Needs:

• A full-frame DSLR or mirrorless camera
• Lighting, stabilization, and audio equipment suitable for photo and video work
• A computer for editing and file management
• Access to Adobe Creative Cloud or similar professional editing software
