⚡ Role: FTR Trader

💼 Industry: Energy Trading

🌎 Location: Houston or NY or Remote

💰 Salary: $150,000 - $230,000 + Top of Market Book %

This is an amazing opportunity for an FTR Trader to join a consistently top perform Energy Trading hedge fund, who have consistently been one of the biggest and most successful participants in multiple ISO's.

Duties:

• Develop infrastructure to monitor real-time changes in power market topology and systems.
• Create mathematical models to analyze and predict power flow dynamics.
• Evaluate the pricing and risk implications of generation and transmission equipment additions, retirements, and upgrades on the electrical grid.
• Integrate diverse data sources into proprietary forward-looking valuations.
• Leverage these valuations to construct sophisticated portfolios of transmission congestion products across North American ISOs, aiming for exceptional risk-adjusted returns on capital.

Requirements:

• Experience applying power market analysis techniques using professional software such as PowerWorld and Dayzer, including power flow studies, generation price modeling, and monitoring bulk system topology changes.
• Proficiency in assessing the impacts of infrastructure changes (additions, retirements, upgrades) in generation and transmission systems.
• Skilled in performing quantitative analyses on large-scale datasets, handling at least 10 million records involving node prices, system demand/supply, transmission, unit outages, and branch flows.
• Expertise in designing trade strategies, analyzing auction outcomes, and managing portfolio risks.
• Proficiency with technical tools for analysis and visualization, including Python, SQL, MATLAB, and Tableau.
