Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Assistant to support our manufacturing operations. This role is critical in ensuring smooth production workflows through accurate scheduling, material tracking, and ERP system management. The ideal candidate will have experience in purchasing, production coordination, and data entry, with a strong understanding of material usage and job lifecycle processes.

Key Responsibilities

Purchasing & Buyer Support

• Assist in sourcing and purchasing raw materials and components.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective procurement.
• Maintain accurate records of purchase orders and vendor communications.

Production Time Entry & Scheduling

• Enter and validate production time data in the ERP system.
• Support production scheduling to optimize resource allocation and minimize downtime.
• Communicate schedule changes to relevant departments.

ERP System Operations

• Issue materials to jobs using the ERP system.
• Verify material usage against job requirements and report discrepancies.
• Track material movement and inventory levels in real-time.

Job Lifecycle Management

• Monitor job progress and ensure timely job closing in the ERP system.
• Conduct production time studies to identify efficiency improvements.
• Collaborate with production leads to resolve issues affecting job completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production support role.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data management tools.
