We are seeking an experienced and licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a strong background in civil engineering and land development to join our team as a Designer/Project Manager. This role will focus on the design and management of a range of civil engineering and land development projects, from concept through completion. The ideal candidate will have 8-15+ years of relevant experience, with strong skills in Civil 3D, Bluebeam, Smartsheets, and other MS Office tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the design of civil engineering and land development projects, including site layouts, grading, utilities, stormwater management, and roadway design.
  • Coordinate and oversee all project phases, ensuring timely and efficient delivery within scope and budget.
  • Prepare, review, and manage construction documents and specifications, leveraging Civil 3D, Bluebeam, and other design tools.
  • Conduct site evaluations, perform engineering calculations, and create detailed project reports.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing project updates and addressing questions or concerns throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, surveyors, and other consultants, to ensure design alignment and project success.
  • Review and submit permit applications, ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and deliverables using Smartsheets and MS Office tools.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and support staff on best practices and design standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • PE license held for 2-5+ years with a total of 8-15+ years of relevant experience in civil engineering and land development.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D, Bluebeam, and Smartsheets; advanced knowledge of MS Office tools, particularly Excel and Project.
  • Strong technical knowledge in site layout, grading, utility design, stormwater management, and land development processes.
  • Proven project management skills, with experience in overseeing all aspects of civil design and land development projects.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams, clients, and regulatory agencies, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with erosion control, low-impact development, and sustainable design practices.
  • Knowledge of local land development regulations and permitting processes.
  • Familiarity with project management software, such as MS Project or similar tools.
