What You'll Do:

Imagine yourself providing expert care to individuals seeking mental health support. You'll conduct thorough evaluations and assessments, diagnose or rule out mental disorders, and develop comprehensive treatment plans, including medication management. Regular follow-up appointments will be essential to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment as needed. You'll participate in incident reviews, treatment planning, and case conferences, contributing to a collaborative approach to care. Accurate documentation of each patient's diagnosis, symptoms, medication, and treatment effectiveness will be crucial. You'll provide emotional support and equip patients with strategies to manage their conditions. Staying up-to-date with the latest developments in psychiatry and mental health will be an important part of your ongoing professional growth.

What You'll Bring:

Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited medical school - your strong educational foundation!
Minimum 3 years of psychiatric experience under supervision in a residency program from an accredited medical school and completion of an approved psychiatric residency - your practical experience!
NYS Board of Psychiatry certification and license - your professional credentials!
Current DEA registration - your authorization to prescribe medications!
Expert diagnostic skills - your clinical expertise!
Excellent knowledge of current DSM criteria - your familiarity with diagnostic standards!
Familiarity with crisis assessment tools and techniques - your ability to handle challenging situations!
Strong working knowledge of general psychiatric principles and practices - your comprehensive understanding of the field!
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - your ability to connect with and support patients!
