Responsibilities

Ascension St. Vincent is looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our Night Critical Care team.

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension St. Vincent to provide medical services to patients.

Position Highlights:

  • Part Time Night Shift 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.
  • Admit or consult on patients admitted to the Cardiovascular, Neurologic or Trauma Intensive Care Units
  • Provide cross cover for overnight critical care issues.
  • Perform invasive procedures such as central line placement, arterial line placement and intubation

Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with a Critical Care physician, provide critical care services to all patients in the Cardiovascular, Neurologic or Trauma Intensive Care Units.
  • Obtain patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview and examination. Order, perform and interpret diagnostic studies. Perform any required procedures.
  • The Critical Care APP team works closely with primary or consulting services to provide comprehensive care.
  • The Critical Care APP attends codes in their assigned units and may be called to assist with rapid responses.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Nurse Practitioner specializing in Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

  • Master's degree of Nursing required.
