As a Retail Sales Specialist, you will ensure that each customer receives an exceptional experience by assisting them in selecting and purchasing animals, supplies, and services that best meet their needs. You will play a key role in our team's success by working at the cash register and maintaining proper inventory levels and pricing to provide a stellar shopping experience. Your passion for animal welfare and health, combined with teamwork and collaboration, will be crucial to your success in this role. Position Responsibilities: Engage with guests and utilize your skills and training to provide a great shopping experience. Assist guests in selecting products based on their unique needs and preferences. Show a genuine interest in the welfare and proper handling of all animals. Process transactions efficiently and create a positive customer experience. Build future business through a deep understanding of guests and their pets. Ensure merchandise is stocked, priced, and displayed attractively. Complete training programs to maintain high expertise in your role. Follow operational guidelines, policies, and procedures strictly. Promote a positive culture of teamwork and collaboration within the store. Complete special projects and additional duties as assigned. Additional Responsibilities: Utilize effective selling behaviors to enhance guest experiences. Contribute to a safe environment by following safety protocols. Engage in a collaborative culture that focuses on health and wellness solutions for pets. Participate in development programs for career growth. Basic Qualifications: A team-oriented mindset with a professional appearance and demeanor. A genuine interest in animal care and wellbeing. Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills for effective public interaction. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in sales or retail. Knowledge of pet nutrition and sales techniques. Work Environment: This role is primarily indoors, but may require brief exits for tasks like receiving merchandise. The position involves bending, kneeling, handling merchandise, and standing for extended periods. Capability to lift 50 lbs and pull 2000 lbs using material handling equipment is necessary. Adherence to safety precautions is essential, and availability for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts is required.
