Registered Nurse (RN), Adult Psychiatric Unit
Full-Time | 0.9 FTE| 12-hour shifts | Days

$7,500 Sign-on Bonus Available *Based on meeting eligibility requirements.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications and requirements
Applicants should have a state of Michigan RN license and possess an associate degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's degree preferred).

Additional requirements include:

· Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)

· Handle with Care- Advanced (within 90 days)

Essential Functions

· Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.

· Documents patient care given.

· Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.

· Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.

· Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

· Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

· Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Department/Unit Summary

Specialty unit. 34 beds staffed/capped at 21 currently (to grow with census). Typically staffed 3 RNs days, 3 RNs afternoon/evenings, 2 RNs nights. Nurse can gain valuable experience and clinical skills in a specialty unit. Very gratifying to see progress and stabilization of the patient you don’t always see with inpatient care. Good sense of team in the unit to keep everyone safe.
