Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Science Writer & Editor with knowledge in drug discovery, development, and commercialization, to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong scientific background, excellent writing skills, and the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear, concise, and engaging content for a variety of audiences. As a Science Writer & Editor, you will be responsible for producing high-quality, evidence-based content, ensuring its accuracy, and maintaining its relevance by continuously monitoring emerging scientific trends and technological advancements.

Your work will support both creative and technical educational writing efforts, including but not limited to video and animation scripts, written articles, course handouts, closed captions, and PowerPoint presentations.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation & Editing:

  • Write and edit scientific content related to drug discovery, development, and commercialization, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with industry and organization standards. Content includes educational materials such as video and animation scripts, written articles, course handouts, closed captions, and other relevant documents.
  • Ensure content is tailored for various audiences, ranging from graduate students to principal investigators, by simplifying complex topics without sacrificing scientific integrity.
  • Review feedback from subject matter experts and update materials as needed to maintain accuracy and clarity.

Research and Content Innovation:

  • Conduct research on relevant scientific topics, utilizing credible sources to inform content.
  • Stay informed about trends and advances in the drug development process, integrating the latest industry knowledge into written materials.
  • Regularly review and revise existing content to ensure that it reflects the most current scientific data and technological innovations. Identify and address gaps in content related to emerging trends, technologies, and research breakthroughs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with subject matter experts and internal teams to ensure content is accurate.

Quality Assurance:

  • Proofread and edit materials for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting consistency, ensuring a high standard of quality across all content.
  • Ensure all written materials are fact-checked, peer-reviewed (if applicable), and aligned with industry standards. Maintain high standards for scientific accuracy, integrity, and clarity.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or Medical Writing. A PhD is preferred.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in technical writing or editing, specifically in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare sectors.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in drug discovery, development, and commercialization processes. Expertise in neurotherapeutics is a plus.
  • Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and industry standards related to drug development and commercialization.
  • Strong background in creating and editing scientific content for diverse audiences.

Skills:

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, and engaging content. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and editing tools.
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS) or other digital platforms for educational content delivery is a plus.
