The Senior Program Manager is responsible for independently managing a portfolio of complex initiatives that are typically People Services (PS)/Human Capital in nature and strategic in scope.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develops and manages the plan surrounding PS project/program engagements. Managing may include but is not limited to interdependencies, dependencies, communications, scope, changes, risks, issues, vendor relationships, financial and human resources.
2. Sets realistic and practical goals for projects/programs while developing appropriate strategies for achieving those goals.
3. Documents communications, risks, and issues thoroughly and professionally.
4. Utilizes best practices, techniques, and standards throughout project/program execution.
7. Coaches, mentors, and motivates team members within the People Services department.
9. Programs included in this role's purview include, but are not limited to: ensuring Human Resources compliance and postings are accurate and current, recognition and service awards, oversight and regular publication of the Nelnet Associate Handbook.
10. To be the HR business consultant for assigned business segments, proactively consulting and partnering with other HR specialists as required (e.g., recruitment, training) to deliver programs, policies and activities that directly contribute to the effectiveness of the business.
11. Ensure that associate change management plans are in place for business change initiatives.
12. Provide professional advice and guidance to associates and managers for associate relations issues.
13. Manage high risk associate relations matters including: harassment investigations, escalations, law suits, EEOC claims.
14. Proactively consult with management on raising associate engagement and assisting with action items as required.
15. Review and recommend any necessary changes to People Services policies and procedures and complete additional research as required.
16. Model good managerial practices and ensure associate information is kept confidential at all times.
17. Provide support for terminations and all related documentation and administration.

**Pay Range for this position is - $110,000 - $150,000

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE:
1. 5+ years of project/program management experience.
2. 5+ years of leadership experience
3. 5+ years of Human Resources experience preferred
