Job Title: Senior Principal Systems Engineer / Google Cloud Architect

Overview: Argo Cyber is supporting a U.S. Government customer on a large, mission-critical development and sustainment program to design, build, deliver, and operate a network operations environment. This includes introducing new cyber capabilities to address emerging threats. We are seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer / Google Cloud Architect to assess, design, and develop automated cloud-based requirements and architectures, translating them into advanced cloud infrastructure, management, and operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Systems Engineering project leadership in support of a large, leading-edge cybersecurity system.
  • Coordinate teams in the development, integration, and testing of advanced cybersecurity capabilities, in collaboration with the Design & Development Lead and Chief Engineer.
  • Interface directly with the Customer, stakeholders, and end-users to derive, develop, and decompose next-cycle updates and specifications.
  • Represent the voice of the user in development efforts.
  • Collaborate within Agile Release Trains and Agile Teams.
  • Support risk assessments and develop risk mitigation countermeasures.
  • Provide Systems Engineering expertise and leadership in the development of automated cloud-based requirements and architectures.
  • Develop derived requirements and systems engineering artifacts into advanced cloud infrastructure, management, and operations.
  • Partner with the Chief Engineer to develop advanced, leading-edge, cloud-oriented architectures that provide new cybersecurity capabilities.
  • Manage the customer cloud environment, including crafting and actively managing a Google Cloud environment.
  • Support IT Service Operations and maintain strong working knowledge of IT products and services.

Required Skills:

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have an active Secret clearance and be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability.
  • 10+ years of directly relevant systems engineering experience.
  • 6+ years direct experience with Google Cloud deployment and management tools.
  • Proven leadership skills and meaningful experience successfully leading large teams.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment in a leadership role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Government Information Security policies, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Expertise in automation of infrastructure - deployment, configuration, and orchestration.
  • Direct experience with scripting in JSON, YAML, HCL, Python, bash/PSH, and/or CloudFormation/Terraform.
  • Strong working knowledge of IT Service Operations and IT products and services.
  • Ability to analyze information, identify relevant facts, and shape opinions of key stakeholders to influence outcomes.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience leading teams and projects at either the tech lead or product owner level.
  • Familiarity with Jenkins, Artifactory, Jira, Git, Ansible, Chef, AWS Lambda, Terraform, or cloud-native tools like CloudFormation.
  • Programming experience (Java, Javascript, .Net, Python, or Ruby).
  • Familiarity with using, updating, and programmatically manipulating Linux and Windows.
  • Experience with NTP, DNS, Networking, LDAP, or Software repositories.
  • Experience with branching and release strategies, CI/CD Pipelines.
  • AWS cloud technology knowledge and implementation experience.
  • Experience designing and implementing event-driven microservice architectures.
  • Experience in technical oversight of individuals and projects.
  • Experience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps environments.
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) knowledge and experience.
  • Experience with Elk Stack (ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana), Nessus, ClamAV, AIDE, Splunk, DNS, NAT.
  • Azure Cloud and AWS Cloud technology knowledge and implementation experience.
  • Experience working on projects that implement analytic models into production systems.
  • Experience with Google technologies, migrations to a Google environment, and maintenance of a Google environment.
  • Experience with agile tools, including Jira and Jira Align.
  • Experience managing many people and projects.
  • Innovative technical mindset with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field. Two years of related work experience may be substituted for each year of degree-level education .

Desired Certifications:

  • Agile software development methodology certification (e.g., SAFe Practitioner or higher).
  • Google Cloud Certification.
  • DoD 8570.1 IAT Level I or II (e.g., CISSP).
  • AWS Cloud-related certifications.
