Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide essential munication support in a K-12 educational setting located in Newport News, VA. This role is vital in facilitating access to the curriculum for students who are Deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (e.g., NIC, RID)
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Experience interpreting in educational settings, particularly with K-12 students
• Strong munication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students
• Knowledge of special education processes and resources

Location: Newport News, VA

Responsibilities:

• Provide interpretation services for students who are Deaf or hard of hearing in classroom settings.
• Collaborate with educators to support the munication needs of students.
• Attend and participate in IEP meetings and staff conferences as required.
