The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the effective use of technology, ensuring network security, and managing digital media tools and resources. This role will also involve overseeing our innovative Maker Space, helping students and staff develop hands-on skills in technology and digital creation. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a small, driven community focused on educational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Management: Manage the district’s network infrastructure, ensuring the network is stable, secure, and accessible to all users. Monitor and maintain the district’s servers, routers, switches, and wireless access points to ensure reliable connectivity.
  • Cybersecurity Management: Implement and enforce best practices for cybersecurity within the school district. Monitor and respond to potential security threats, ensure safe online practices, and help educate staff and students on maintaining cybersecurity awareness.
  • Digital Media & Resources: Curate and manage a variety of digital media tools, resources, and platforms that support the curriculum and student learning. Oversee digital media projects, ensuring they are engaging and aligned with educational goals.
  • Maker Space Management: Oversee and maintain the school’s Maker Space, a hands-on area for students to explore technology, engineering, and digital creation. Help organize and facilitate projects, workshops, and activities that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration among students.
  • Professional Development: Offer ongoing professional development and training for staff on new technologies, digital tools, and best practices for integrating technology in the classroom. Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in education and provide recommendations for their integration.
  • Inventory and Asset Management: Track and maintain an inventory of all technological devices, software, and related equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and properly distributed throughout the district.
  • Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and students to assess technology needs, identify areas for improvement, and help with the development of a technology plan that supports the district’s educational goals.
  • Community Engagement: Engage with parents and the broader community to inform them about the district’s technology initiatives and how they support student learning. Promote the positive use of technology in the school environment.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in technology support, network management, and cybersecurity.
  • Familiarity with educational technology tools, digital media, and resources.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to train and support teachers and students on technology use.
  • Experience with managing a Maker Space or similar hands-on learning environment (preferred but not required).
