Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts with 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 1:2 patient ratio maintained throughout all shifts
• Every other weekend requirement
• 2 years of Cardiac/CVICU ICU experience required - no neuro ICU experience accepted
• Travel experience required, no first-time travelers accepted
• Must pass Relias EKG exam
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, BSN
• Navy blue scrubs required
• EPIC charting system experience preferred
• Float within service line when needed
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from facility
• Up to 2 time-off requests allowed, maximum 40 hours (5 days) total during contract
• 16 weeks preferred contract length, 13 weeks minimum
• Care for patients with acute heart failure, CHF exacerbation, fluid overload, post cardiac arrest, complete heart block, cardiogenic shock, pre-heart transplant, arrhythmias, ventricular tachycardia
• Manage vasoactive drips, central lines, PA/TVP catheter monitoring, dialysis, foley catheters
• Work with specialized equipment including intra-aortic balloon pumps, LVADs, and Impella devices
• Perform ICU procedures including ventilator management, arterial line management, pulmonary artery catheter management, pacemaker care
Facility:
This major academic medical center is a Magnet-designated teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center with 1,266 total staffed beds. The facility provides comprehensive cardiovascular intensive care services with 24/7 specialty support including heart vascular services, neurosciences, radiology, anesthesiology, and surgery. The CVICU operates with 20 beds and maintains a daily census of 14 patients, supported by interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams.
