self-scheduling, managed by manager based on unit needs
4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
All over to the inpatient units, excluding Maternity/NICU
Navy Blue
2 shifts of unit/department specific orientation
Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity
RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions

Unit Specific Information

# of Beds: 18
Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:1-2 ICU, 1:4 PCU
Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults and Peds >15 years old. Various Trauma injuries, Sepsis, stroke, ARDS, MODS, COPD, cardiac arrest.
CVPs, IABP and Impella-core staff will take if no exp; Alines, Swans, EV-1000, ICP monitoring- all can train real time.
Zoll-Thermoguard for hypothermia protocol, Bell Mont rapid transfuse
Yes RNs are required to titrate drips.
Common titratable and/or set rate drips: Vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, antiarrhythmics
There is a Charge Nurse on each shift who does not take an assignment.
There are nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit - Ratios? Duties: 1:18
RT Equipment: Nasal cannula to vents. RNs need to be able to read and interpret
No Tele/Monitor Techs - Draeger heart monitoring with centralized telemetry monitoring.
