Promont Insurance Advisors , a member company of DOXA Insurance Holdings, is expanding and hiring an
Underwriter for our Church & Schools P&C Product . Promont is a Chicago, IL based underwriting management company that produces a book of commercial property and casualty business on behalf of several "A" rated carriers. Promont writes business on a surplus lines basis throughout the country for the following types of risk: (i) Churches & Schools; (ii) Allied Healthcare; (iii) Assisted Living Facilities; and (iv) Skilled Nursing Facilities.

As an underwriter with Promont, you will: - Evaluate, select, and price submissions to develop and maintain a profitable book of business.
- Manage internal and external relationships that will develop into superior service.
- Performing pre and post binding review of underwriting information, including loss control inspections, property information, policy applications and prior loss history
- Overseeing and maintaining policy file documentation.
- Liaise with internal resources in establishing account strategy.
- Communicate risk appetite and quoted propositions to brokers.
- Sending declinations, non-renewals, and direct notices of cancellation, when appropriate
- Participate in underwriting projects as needed.
Requirements
- A BA in Business Administration, Health Information Management, or Risk Engineering/Risk Management preferred
- Professional certifications, such as the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) or Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU) preferred
- 3+ years of experience underwriting, including general liability or property products
- Intermediate understanding of underwriting software
- Analytical, detail oriented, and mathematical proficiency
