Job Summary
We are seeking a responsible and reliable Van Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and possess the necessary qualifications to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers during transit.

Van Driver Responsibilities
- Safely operate a van following a set route and schedule
- Ensure the safety and well-being of passengers, especially children
- Maintain order and discipline among passengers, utilizing behavior management techniques when necessary
- Provide a high level of customer service to all passengers
- Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained
- Communicate effectively with transportation staff and passengers

Bus Aid Responsibilities
- Supervise and assist students as they board and exit the bus, helping with any special needs or challenges.
- Ensure students are seated and remain seated properly throughout the ride.
- Maintain order and a positive atmosphere on the bus, addressing any behavioral issues in a calm and effective manner.
- Assist the bus driver with pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including checking for items left on the bus.
- Attend to the needs of students with disabilities, providing a helping hand and ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Communicate with school staff and parents as needed regarding student behavior, health, or other concerns.

Qualifications
- Previous experience driving van, particularly in school or paratransit settings
- Possess a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements
- Familiarity with van driving and passenger transportation protocols
- Ability to educate passengers on vehicle safety procedures
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse group of passengers
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for better passenger engagement
