Job Description
Edmonds-Westgate Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team! Our assistants play a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care during appointments by coordinating and executing treatment plans and providing thorough client education.
In this role, you will primarily assist during exams and outpatient care, maintain detailed medical records, review treatment plans, and address clients' questions. Additionally, you will coordinate with your team to manage the veterinarian's orders, ensuring the highest level of patient care and maintaining an efficient workflow to keep exams running on schedule.
This is a full- time position, with a flexible schedule and availability needed generally Monday - Friday, with rotating Saturday shifts.
Full-time benefits and compensation**:
- Compensation: $20-24 per hour, for each hour worked*
- Bonus package: $500 for those with 3+ years of consecutive, current VA experience

Required qualifications and skillset:
- Ideally 2+ years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting, although we are open to training the right person!
- Proficiency in the following skills:
- Patient restraint (dogs and cats)
- SQ, IM and IV injections and vaccines
- Patient care for hospitalized patients
- Client communication and education
- Setting up and assisting in surgery
