Description Job Summary We are seeking a Visual Merchandising Manager to elevate the in-store customer experience through exceptional visual merchandising. This role will be responsible for traveling to multiple retail locations, personally setting featured item and category spaces, and ensuring merchandising execution aligns with company standards.
Working closely with the Vice President of Merchandising and the Retail President, this individual will bring merchandising visions to life, creating engaging, beautiful, and sales-driven displays that enhance the overall shopping experience. Additionally, they will serve as a teacher and influencer, training store teams on best practices in visual merchandising, layout execution, and impactful product presentation.
This position is ideal for a hands-on, creative, and strategic merchandiser who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and has a passion for making stores look stunning while driving sales.
Frequent travel required to multiple retail locations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Visual Merchandising Execution & Store Impact
- Personally set up featured item and category spaces at multiple retail locations, ensuring the highest standards of presentation.
- Visual merchandising, preferably in retail, garden centers, or related industries
- Maintain a consistent, beautiful, and on-brand look and feel across all stores.
- Develop and execute seasonal merchandising strategies, ensuring promotions and key product categories are showcased effectively.
- Work with store teams to refine store layouts, focal points, and signage for maximum customer engagement.
- Familiarity with plants, gardening, and related products is highly desirable
Training, Influence & Collaboration
- Serve as a mentor and coach, teaching store teams the principles of effective visual merchandising.
- Conduct hands-on training sessions and provide ongoing guidance to ensure consistent execution across all locations.
- Partner closely with the VP of Merchandising and Retail President to align merchandising execution with strategic business goals.
- Act as a liaison between corporate merchandising leadership and store teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
Customer Experience & Sales Impact
- Use visual storytelling to create engaging shopping environments that improve customer experience and drive sales.
- Ensure product placements encourage customer interaction and maximize conversion opportunities.
- Continuously evaluate and improve store ambiance, layout flow, and product presentation to enhance the overall impression.
Merchandising Standards & Compliance
- Ensure all locations adhere to corporate merchandising guidelines while tailoring execution to store-specific needs.
- Provide feedback and solutions for visual merchandising challenges, offering creative, scalable improvements.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and recommend innovative merchandising techniques to enhance store appeal.
Qualifications Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - 5+ years of experience in visual merchandising within a multi-location retail environment.
- Strong hands-on experience in setting up in-store displays, planograms, and product presentations.
- Proven ability to teach, train, and influence store teams in merchandising execution.
- Highly creative with a strong eye for detail, aesthetics, and brand consistency.
- Ability to align merchandising strategies with broader business goals to drive revenue and enhance customer experience.
- Strong partnership skills with senior leadership, store teams, and merchandising departments.
- Willingness to travel frequently to retail locations for in-store execution and training.
- Strong communication and leadership skills - must be able to articulate vision and inspire execution.
- Retail, home improvement, or garden center experience is a plus.

Education BS in Marketing, Finance or equivalent experience.
Physical requirements/Working Conditions While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in possibly extreme conditions, including rain, heat, sun, and wind.
