Fashion Assistant

We are currently seeking a Fashion Assistant (Aug-Dec) to join the Alexa team! Please note: this position is extremely fast-paced and requires a deep passion for fashion, a network of contacts in a wide range of fashion markets, on set experience, as well as the ability to multitask.

Responsibilities:

• Organize the ever changing contents of the New York Post fashion closet
• Research, request and oversee incoming/outgoing samples for photo shoots that will be received/shipped from our fashion closet. Samples will need to be handled with utmost care at all times. Samples also need to be meticulously inventoried immediately upon receipt
• Collaborate with the fashion department in pulling garments and accessories for shoots
• Work alongside photo editors / photographers when pulling clothes / shoes and the transportation of such items
• Perform general administrative duties such as sample request trafficking, sample request paperwork, overseeing incoming / outgoing samples

The ideal candidate will have/be:

• Strong communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong knowledge of fashion markets (ranging from luxury to friendly price points) in both the women's and men's ready-to-wear and accessory space
• Ability to work well under often tight or last minute deadlines
• Experience with WordPress is a plus
• Availability to work at least 5 days a week
• Previous experience working in fashion editorial is a plus, as is being well versed in the operations of a fashion closet
• Desire for a future career in the fashion industry
