Pay Rate: $18.00/HR

Available Shifts:

  • Full-Time: Wednesday 12:00am-8:00am, Thursday 4:00pm-12:00pm, Friday and Saturday 8:00pm-8:00am (40 hours)
  • Part-Time: Tuesday and Thursday 12am-8am (16 hours)

Job Summary

We are inviting compassionate and dedicated individuals to apply as Mental Health Support Specialists in our innovative residential program for justice-involved adults aged 18 and over with serious mental illness. This nonprofit initiative is committed to providing essential mental health treatment for individuals in need of Conditional Release or competency restoration.

As a Mental Health Support Specialist, you will be a vital part of our Intensive Behavioral Health Services team, based in Easton, PA, working collaboratively within a supportive recovery framework.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to residents, assisting with personal hygiene and daily living activities while fostering a therapeutic community environment.
  • Facilitate engaging activities, including educational, social, and recreational programs that incorporate resident feedback in the planning process.
  • Document clinical interactions and maintain accurate records in residential logs, including progress notes for assigned residents, while promptly reporting any crises or unusual incidents to the Shift Supervisor.
  • Participate in training and team meetings, including Quality Improvement Programs and multidisciplinary treatment discussions.

Physical Demands:

This job requires regular communication with residents, frequent standing, walking, and climbing stairs, as well as using hands and arms for various tasks. You will need to operate a vehicle to assist residents and may occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include the ability to see at varying distances and for safety purposes.

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to safely drive a vehicle for transporting residents.

Qualifications:

  • AA in human services with 2 years of experience in mental health/intellectual disability OR
  • High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant experience OR
  • High School Diploma or equivalent plus 6 months of mental health training OR
  • 12 semester hours in a mental health-related field
  • A valid driver's license is a must.
  • Experience engaging with individuals involved in the criminal justice system and with those facing substance use challenges is preferred.
