Job Details Job Overview:
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and delivering key client projects. This role involves managing the end-to-end process of multiple projects. The Project Manager works closely with internal teams as well as external vendors and contractors. They are also responsible for maintaining and reporting on project schedules and budgets to ensure successful project delivery.
Roles/Responsibilities:
Review and analyze Purchase Orders to ensure alignment with contract terms, pricing, project details, commitments, and scope.
Lead and facilitate the order entry meeting to ensure clear communication of project requirements.
Develop, manage, and track drawing and documentation needs throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordinate the specification, ordering, and delivery of externally-supplied materials and services.
Conduct site visits, web meetings, and drawing exchanges to assess field conditions and ensure alignment with equipment and systems being supplied.
Identify, schedule, and negotiate subcontracted installation services, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.
Advise customers on site requirements and verify that site conditions (e.g., utilities, rigging, storage, building modifications) align with project specifications.
Coordinate system commissioning, ensuring all site readiness criteria are met before installation.
Monitor customer milestones and requirements, collaborating with engineering and business teams to meet project objectives.
Maintain and manage project timelines using ERP systems, and actively participate in meetings to ensure progress and resolve issues.
Oversee and manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification and change control techniques.
Foster and maintain strong client relationships, escalating potential risks to management as needed.
Establish and manage relationships with third-party vendors and contractors, holding regular meetings to clarify project requirements and ensure timely execution.
Delegate project tasks based on team members' strengths, skill sets, and experience levels to maximize efficiency and meet project deadlines.
Ensure projects meet budget objectives and adjust constraints based on financial analysis.
Develop comprehensive project plans to share with clients and internal stakeholders, tracking and reporting progress regularly.
Provide leadership and guidance to junior project team members, mentoring them and supporting their professional development.
Attend conferences and training sessions as needed to maintain industry proficiency and enhance project management skills.
Qualifications:
5+ years of project management experience, preferably construction or manufacturing
3+ years of people management experience
Exceptional client-facing communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and other project management software, with an understanding of critical path and dependencies.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
Practical experience with SAP (ERP) systems is a plus.
